MORE LEGAL WOES FOR KID ROCK AS THREE MEN ADD ASSAULT CHARGE TO LAWSUIT
E! Online reports that three men who sued KID ROCK in March over an incident that took place two years earlier added additional charges to their lawsuit on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. MICHAEL MEDLIN, CARLOS BONILLA and JOSE PEREZ originally sued Rock and his cohorts for battery, infliction of emotional distress and negligence. They amended the lawsuit after an attorney for the 37-year-old singer -- whose real name is ROBERT RITCHIE -- challenged the allegation of negligence in their original suit. Now, the trio has not only clarified the negligence allegation, but they have tacked on a charge of assault.
The alleged incident originally took place in March 2006 outside a nightclub at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel. Medlin, Bonilla and Perez claim they simply approached Kid Rock for an autograph and were beaten by the singer, his entourage and members of hip-hop group THE BOO-YAA TRIBE and were, quote, "left on the ground seriously injured." They're seeking some 15 million dollars in damages for loss of wages, medical expenses and general pain and suffering.
Kid Rock has had a history of violence over the last year or so, including an incident where he punched TOMMY LEE at last fall's Video Music Awards, allegedly shoved a woman outside a Michigan recording studio and, of course, the infamous Waffle House fiasco in Atlanta.
